Terms of Use

Effective Date: 1 July 2025

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PlainBroadband (plainbroadband.co.uk), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this site.

Information Purpose

PlainBroadband is an informational resource that presents publicly available Ofcom data on UK fixed-broadband coverage in a more accessible format. The information on this site is provided for general informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice. Coverage figures represent network availability at the time of Ofcom's survey and may not reflect your specific address or current network state.

Accuracy and Completeness

Whilst we strive to present accurate information, we make no warranties about the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the data. All broadband coverage figures originate from Ofcom's Connected Nations 2025 report and are reproduced without modification. Ofcom's source data may contain errors, may be outdated, or may not reflect current network conditions. Always verify important information with official sources such as Ofcom's broadband availability checker or your broadband provider.

No Professional Advice

Nothing on this site constitutes professional advice of any kind. Any decisions you make based on information found here — including purchasing decisions about broadband services or property — are solely your responsibility.

Intellectual Property

The underlying Ofcom data presented on this site is published under the Open Government Licence v3.0 and is not owned by PlainBroadband. Our original design, code, text, editorial content, and organisation of the data are copyrighted by Kiznis Studio. You may not scrape, reproduce, or redistribute our site design or original content without permission.

Third-Party Links

This site may contain links to third-party websites, including Ofcom's own publications and government resources. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.

Advertising

This site displays advertisements through Google AdSense to support its operation. Ads are served by third parties and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PlainBroadband and Kiznis Studio shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of or inability to use this site, including any reliance on broadband coverage figures for commercial, property, or investment decisions.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Data Accuracy and Verification

PlainBroadband aggregates and reformats information from Ofcom's Connected Nations 2025 report, an official publication of the UK's communications regulator. Whilst we take reasonable steps to ingest, normalise, and present this data faithfully, upstream records may contain clerical errors, lag behind real-world network changes, or omit relevant context about specific addresses or postcodes. You are solely responsible for verifying any fact that influences a decision about broadband services, property purchases, business location, or similar matters. Cross-reference Ofcom's own tools or your preferred broadband provider before acting on anything you read here.

Acceptable Use

You may browse, read, and share PlainBroadband content for personal, journalistic, academic, and non-commercial research use. You may cite specific records with attribution and a link back to the relevant page on plainbroadband.co.uk. You may not (a) systematically scrape, crawl, or download the dataset in bulk without prior written permission; (b) resell, sublicense, or redistribute derived data products that compete with PlainBroadband; (c) use our pages to misrepresent any local authority, constituency, or broadband provider appearing in the data; (d) remove, obscure, or mislabel Ofcom source attribution; or (e) attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, or authentication mechanisms.

Editorial Process and Content

PlainBroadband combines Ofcom source data with plain-language summaries, explainers, and comparisons compiled by our editorial team. Our editorial pipeline reviews and verifies all content before publication. We do not alter underlying Ofcom figures; those are loaded directly from the source dataset. If you spot a summary that misreads the data, please use the contact link on our contact page to report it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in our data sources, product features, or legal environment. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or relating to your use of PlainBroadband will first be addressed through good-faith informal negotiation. If that fails, both parties agree to resolve the dispute in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer-protection rights under applicable UK law.

Legal Notices

For formal legal notices, DMCA takedown requests, subpoenas, law-enforcement requests, or correspondence regarding these terms, email legal@plainbroadband.co.uk. General questions, data corrections, and feedback should use the contact page so they reach the editorial team promptly.
